A lot like Christmas...

The Sister missionaries came over tonight with one of their investigators. Not only did I love their visit because it reminded me so much of my time in Brazil, but I loved it for another reason as well.
Before they left, Sister Wadsworth said, "Ooh. I love your bathroom. It smells like Christmas!"
I had to chuckle. She must have been referring to the cinnamon scentsy warmer in the bathroom which I always keep on when we are expecting visitors. I have to admit, I am obsessed with good smells. And there is just something welcoming about walking into a place that is filled with a delightful aroma.
My husband, Kyle, thinks I am crazy whenever I want to buy yet another scented candle, or in those moments when I have both scentsy warmers and an additional scented candle lit in our little microscropic Manhattan apartment all at the same time.
But now, I think I have a stronger argument the next Kyle even raises a brow at my candle-buying obsession. All I will have to do is say, "hmm. Smells like Christmas." Who wouldn't want their home to smell like Christmas and inevitably evoke all those wonderful sentiments?!
Way to go Sister Wadsworth. Way to go.

L-O-V-E

i love being married to kyle. it is like being with my best friend all the time! he makes me smile and makes me laugh so hard that sometimes i need to take a time-out from him just to get a breath in. i find that every single second we are together is a second filled to the very brim with so much happiness!
my sister recently told me,"em, you are just so fun now that you are married. i mean, you've always had it in you...but...you are so great now!"
Hmm. Glad to know that I can now be fun with Kyle in my life! 3 cheers for love!

A day to remember.
An event that won't be forgotten.
The day when Americans, young & old, rich & poor, joined together in unity and pride for our country. With a prayer and a dream that we would stand united and overcome the terrible tragedy.
Then, I never dreamed that 8 years later I would be living in NYC.
Working just blocks from where the unthinkable happened.
Gazing over Ground Zero every time I visited Kyle at his 41st floor cubicle.
And remembering...
All those who lost their lives & all those who gave their lives helping, rescuing and saving others.
May we never forget those individuals & may we always remain
Proud to be an American.

waking up to the waves...

We went camping with some friends this weekend on a little Island off of the coast of New York. On the beach. Never done that before. We saw absolutely no one for most of our time. It felt like we were on some deserted island.

We backpacked in...barefoot by moonlight as the waves crashed in & pitched our tents right on the beach! It was awesome to wake to the sounds of loud waves ( I thought the tide was going to swallow us up!) Then we spent the day diving through waves, running on the sand, and relaxing in the sun.

As we packed up to return, we discovered exactly why it is called Fire Island...boy were we burning with sunburns and more mosquito bites than should ever be allowed on one human body!

Introducing....

Have you ever seen a more adorable thing in the world? Introducing my niece Emme. I wish she did not live so far away! That is okay, I will just keep trying to convince her parents that every little girl needs a trip to the big apple during her first year of life...think they'll go for it?

The Perfect Day.

Here is an apology for my lack of posts recently & a quick post for now. Whew, do I ever have a lot to catch up on!

So it happened. After months and endless hours of planning and stressing, the wedding came and went. And all I have to say, was wow. B.D.E. Best day ever! Everything about the big day was incredible, minus the lost ties and photos we forgot to print until minutes before the reception. But I didn't think twice about it and instead just basked in the moments of wonderfulness that the entire day was made of.

And it truly was. A day of pure joy. Almost overwhelming joy. A beautiful temple ceremony where Kyle & I were sealed by his Grandpa while being surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. It was a moment I will always remember.

Happiness. Endless smiles. And hundreds of photos to be able to reminisce & remember it always.

Everything I have always wanted & more...with the man of my dreams right by my side. I love you Kyle!
